Primary 3 and 4 pupils visited the EFCC Headquarters on the 4th of November 2024. The pupils arrived EFCC Headquarters around 10:28am and were welcomed by the security personnel who after documentation led them to a lecture room.
As soon as the pupils settled down, EFCC staff, the pupils and the teachers took turns to introduce themselves after which the national anthem was sung.
Three lectures were given;
- The aims and objectives of the commission: – by Mr Dele Oyewale – Head Media and Publicity who stood in for the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede.
- Cyber Crime: – by Mr Iliyasu. He advised the pupils to always speak out.
- Integrity: – given by Madam Aisha Mohammed – Head of Enlightenment and Orientation Unit. She urged the pupils to always do the right thing even when no one is watching. She carried out a simple test on integrity. Treasure Ijeoma Obiezu and Chimmamanda Okeke displayed high level of honesty and were decorated as EFCC Ambassadors.
At the end of all the lectures, there was a quiz session moderated by Madam Aisha Mohammed. This was won by Mevye Sarah Makama and Mustapha Omeiza. They were given a Nokia Android Phone each and were also decorated as EFCC Ambassadors.
Finally, the four ambassadors were taken to the EFCC Radio Room where they had a Live Broadcast.
We left the EFCC premises at about 1:16 pm and got back to school at 1:47 pm.
It was quite interactive, educative, transformative and fun experience for the pupils.
