On Thursday, 24^th October,2024, the senior secondary students embarked on an enlightening excursion to the NDIC headquarters. The visit aimed to provide firsthand knowledge of the corporation’s role, objectives and operations in ensuring the stability of Nigeria’s financial system.

Upon arrival, we were warmly received by NDIC officials. We began with the National Anthem, followed by the introduction taken by Mr. Bokpere Adeghe, a principal manager of the corporation. He provided an overview of the corporation’s history, mission, and vision. We learnt that NDIC was establish in 1988.

The second speaker, Mr. Cheche, mounted the stage, he made us understand that the NDIC was established to: insure bank deposits, provide financial assistance to troubled banks, and enhance public confidence in banking system.

Miss Hadiza Bulama took over from Mr. Cheche and enlightened us more on Fintech, which encompasses the use of financial technology to deliver financial services in Nigeria.

During the interactive session, we were asked questions by NDIC officials and we provided answers.

In conclusion, our excursion to NDIC provided a comprehensive understanding of NDIC role in maintaining Nigeria’s financial stability and I am sure that it has inspired some of us to explore careers in banking and finance.
